National Draw -- KANSAS
Hey there Kansas!!!!
I need some
help in organizing a picnic for Saturday evening, July 19th at Farmington....It is where we will all gather, get the kids'
shirts and coats and that ever lovin' travel check!
Please call me at (316) 993-3629 so we can coordinate.
Val has asked that I get a few people together and plan this event. It doesn't have to be huge -- just some good
food, good music and good people!
Thanks!
Crisis Fund Basket here is the Theme Movie Night in OZ Land - Kansas Using a tabletop popcorn machine as the basket and filling it with movies either
made in Kansas or about Kansas, along with the big candy bars, popcorn, oil, maybe a blanket. Items can be brought to Finals. Melinda Schultz is in charge of the
Crisis Fund Basket that is auctioned off at Finals in Farmington. So if you know of a movie or have a popcorn popper that
meets the size of 3x3, please bring it. Remember this
is a TEAM effort. This basket will be the hit of the state baskets.
Melinda is still looking for KANSAS made items!

Late Check in NHSFR A lot of people have been asking about the late check in possibilities for
contestants who are in Shawnee prior to the NHSFR. The Executive Committee approved the policy at the spring meeting and I
have now worked out the details with the officials in Shawnee. This will be in the June and July issues of the NHSRA TIMES
and posted to the NHSRA website today. But if anyone asks, you will have it as well. It appears below.
NHSFR qualified contestants who qualify and compete in the short go-round at Shawnee will be
allowed late check in at the NHSFR under the following guidelines:
If an NHSFR qualified contestant qualifies for the short go at the International Finals Youth Rodeo in Shawnee, the contestant
must notify the Rodeo Office in Shawnee that they are also entered in the NHSFR. The Rodeo Official in Shawnee will fax the
list of short go contestants who are also expected at the NHSFR to Kent Sturman at the Rodeo Office in Farmington. The contestants
on that list will be granted late check in at the NHSFR but must arrive by the 11 a.m. Mandatory Contestant Meeting on Sunday,
July 20, NO EXCEPTIONS. This late check in is allowed ONLY for the contestants who have qualified for the short go in Shawnee.
Late check in will not be granted for siblings, traveling partners or other NHSFR contestants who have competed in Shawnee
but did not make the short go. Kent

High School Rodeo Association

Hello
Everyone,
We
are all excited to be 5 weeks into the brand new season of 20X Rodeo High on RFD-TV. I just wanted to make you all aware
of the new format of the shows, because there has been some recent confusion with the change to the half hour format.
There are FOUR half hour shows from each
rodeo location. For show pacing and airtime reasons, most of the events are split into TWO sections in TWO
different shows. We display the results at the end of each event that reflect the kids shown in THAT PARTICULAR SHOW. For the State and National
Finals Rodeos, there will be a show leaderboard displaying the results from the kids who competed in that show, and there
will be a year end leaderboard reflecting the overall, year end results after both sections of contestants in each event have
been shown on 20X Rodeo High. So, if you do not see a contestant that you think should be in
the show, you don’t see the winner of an event in the first section of a particular event, or the results do not seem
correct…please tune in for all 4 shows covering your rodeo. We are doing our best to show as many quality performances
from each rodeo as possible, and create entertaining television for RFD-TV.
Thank you for tuning in to 20X Rodeo High, and we always appreciate feedback.
I
am pleased to announce that we will have a special guest available to parents, coaches and competitors during the upcoming
High School Rodeo Shotgun matches at Farmington. Don Sipes is the National Rifle Association (NRA) National Shotgun Coach Trainer and is
also an NSSA Level 2 Skeet Instructor and an ATA Level 2 Trap Coach. Don has graciously agreed to attend the practice
session on July 21, the Trap Match on July 23 and the Family Shoot on July 24th to help competitors and discuss with parents and coaches the merits
of the NRA Coach program. Please plan on taking advantage of this unique opportunity for your program and for your shooters. Please refer to your match
schedule for further details on times and places. Lyn
