What does it take to become a member of the Kansas High School Rodeo Association?
Your school DOES NOT have to have a rodeo team!
This is a huge misconception!
You have to be enrolled in school, meet minimum grade requirements and of course, the approval
of your parents. Please feel free to contact any of the Student Directors or Adult Directors for more information!
Hope to see y'all at the next rodeo!

The Kansas High School Rodeo Association
directors and members would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support of our organization. Without
sponsors like you, the Kansas High School Rodeo Association (KHSRA) would not be possible.
The aim of the KHSRA along with the National
High School Rodeo Association (NHSRA) is “The Development of Sportsmanship, Horsemanship, and Character in the Youth
of our Country.” These organizations together form a strong foundation for the youth to build on gives them many
opportunities that would otherwise be lost. Not only do our members gain lifetime friendships, knowledge and experience
but many, if not most, or our graduating seniors go on to rodeo at the college level, earning scholarships that pay for the
majority of their college education.
The Kansas High School Rodeo Association
is a nonprofit organization incorporated with the state of Kansas. All donations are tax deductible under code section
501 C of the Internal Revenue Code. Kansas was a charter member of the National High School Rodeo Association which
was organized and incorporated in 1955. The first KHSRA sanctioned event was held in June 1956. Thirty five contestants
competed in the first Kansas High school rodeo.
KHSRA is a state wide organization, open
to any high school student who meets grade and conduct requirements. We have approximately 28 qualifying rodeo in 12 different
locations throughout the state, from such places as Lakin, Dodge City, Phillipsburg, Mound City, Fredonia and many other cities
in between. Last year we had 153 members, and we are growing each year. Currently, as of January 2008, we have
198 members!
As stated previously, any money donated
to the association is 100% tax deductible. All of the money received goes toward scholarships, awards, and national team expenses.
All other directors and officers of the association are volunteers.
The past few years have been a time of
growth and development in KHSRA. A lot of success can be given to the generous benefactors who have become State, Platinum,
Gold, Silver and Bronze and Finals award sponsors for the KHSRA. They have helped these young athletes reach their
potential and goals and have given Kansas something to be proud of. We salute you!
